good habits

Eat Real Food

Calorie Counting: Eat Real Food and Don’t Worry | Urban Organic Gardener

I've been eating more and more like this lately due to my sons food sensitivities...but it's good for the entire family.

Modesty is Just Part of The Journey...

Joye at Home: Modesty is Just Part of The Journey...

I feel like this is wrapped up with my weight loss journey and part of the lessons that the Lord wants me to learn. When I first lost all my excess weight, one of the first things I did was go out and buy a whole new wardrobe (well...I had to, I went from a size 12 to a size 0...yikes). So my vanity lead me to buy the cutesiest and most figure revealing stuff that I could fimd. I could finally fit in a bikini...and isn't that what all dieters are striving for? (where's the slap icon...lol). Then shortly after my weightloss, He brought me to Carmel...and instilled a whole different passion in clothes for me. I just have this attraction for the color Brown! I still like fashionable clothing, but I think there are plenty of options available without bearing it all for the world. Another thing is that I refuse to wear the metalic scapular necklaces...if I can't wear my regular brown scapular under my outfit, then the outfit itself is probably not appropriate for me.

I also believe that this is part of the reason that the Lord allowed the weight to come back on...to protect me when I wasn't willing to protect myself.

By the way...I'm not trying to teach anyone else with this post or convict anyone. These are my own lessons and they've come to me the hard way.

Arrghh!

The day went well until late evening when I ate half of a three musketeer bar and am now paying for it with a tummy ache and nausea. I haven't had one in ages, but hubby bought one for me and for some reason I have a terribly hard time saying no to him or the kids when they offer me food. Yep...another issue to bring to the Lord in prayer.

8 Tricks for Boosting Your Metabolism

TW Day 1

I'm going to restart with the Thin Within basic principles of waiting until hunger and stopping at satisfaction. Instead of eating whatever I desire though...I'm going to listen to where the Lord has been leading me in this area. At the moment I'm attempting a sort of version of the Daniel's Fast...mostly vegan, no sugar, only water for drinking.

1-1-11

Seems to me like the perfect opportunity for 're-starts' and new beginnings. So here I stand (or lie...since I'm layed out with a terrible sinus infection at the moment), ready to make some changes in my life. I'm laying my entire life before the Lord on this first day of the year and pray that I don't grab any of it back...ever!

The area of my life that most needs healing from Him is health and energy...not just for me but for my entire family. So that's the first area to be offered up completly and unconditionally. I really mean it, and not as I've done it in the past...'here Lord, I'll offer up how much and when I eat, but please still allow me to eat all the garbage that I WANT!' Nope...I'm now saying to Him, I want to follow your Way and do Your Will...entirely! I've seen how certain foods have affected my son's health and behavior...thank You Lord for showing it to me. Now show me exactly what needs to be done around here. Please guide us on this new adventure. Amen.

The Five Minute Mom

The Five Minute Mom - Coaching programs by mom expert Hannah Keeley

I'm on Day 5 of this program and I can't begin to tell you how wonderful it has been. I had read her book and really liked it...but I sometimes find it hard to focus...I just read ahead and get bombarded with information but nothing really sticks (ADHD?). This is great because it is put out in chunks for you with focus questions and daily action steps. It's not 'yet another program' where you have to follow someone else's plan. With this she guides you to discover your own goals and get YOU going. I'm confident that I'm taking life changing steps here. If you are doing this program, let me know...I'd love the company on this journey.

Sing praise to His name

facebook...Thin Within :"praise the Lord, for the Lord is good; sing praise to His name, for that is pleasant". - psalm 135:3

Twila Paris - The Joy of the Lord

Serve the Lord with gladness

"Cry out with joy to the Lord, all the earth. Serve the Lord with gladness, Come before him, singing for joy."

Psalm 100

Peace and Victory

31 Days of Letting Go: Day 6 :- Lord, Your Word tells me I will have trouble in this world, but You also
assure me that I don't have to live in defeat. In You, I can have peace
and victory. Help me turn to You first and be filled with Yourstrength.
Help me live with Your power. No matter what my struggle,...help me
remember that You have overcome the world, that... You love me, and in
You, I am more than a conqueror! (John 16:33; Romans 8:37)

Amen!

a step ahead

Lorrie Flem.. "“Holy is the Lord God Almighty, who was and is, and is to come.” Space and time are irrelevant to God. Stop. Let that thought sink in ... God is always a step ahead of you. This means He is already in the middle of your day and in the center of all your tomorrows. When you grasp this, it is easier to trust Him with our lives and situations; the ones here today, and the ones to come."

I would usually just repost these on my status line and then it just scrolls away...I'm thinking by posting it here...I can keep a journal of what God is doing in my life on a daily basis.

Anyway...this really spoke to me. I guess He's working on me regarding my trust issues. A life lived for Christ doesn't mean that there will never be any pain...it just means that He is on it and can now use it for our own good...we (I) can TRUST that! Nothing worse then wasted pain...don't waste yours either...offer it to Him (right after offering your own heart that is).

Trust

USCCB | NAB - July 29, 2010

"Can I not do to you, house of Israel,
as this potter has done? says the LORD.
Indeed, like clay in the hand of the potter,
so are you in my hand, house of Israel."

It can hurt to be in the potter's hand at times...but one thing is for sure you will come out better then when you went in. Trust in the Lord with your whole being.

I'm starting a new journey today and I have faith that the Lord has a plan for my life and I can't wait to see what comes of it. I am filled with hope. Please pray for me as I take my baby steps forward.

So Little Regard for Grace

p 5 The Glories of Divine Grace

"We are awe stricken at an hour's eclipse of the sun; at an earthquake that buries a whole city; at a pestilential disease that swiftly carries off men and beasts in great number. Yet there is an occurence far worse, far more terrible and deplorable, which we behold thousands of times every day without emotion: the neglect and loss of the precious grace of God by so many men."

May our eyes and hearts be opened today to finding the pearl of great value and on locating it, be willing to sell all we posess in order to purchase it.

The Glories of Divine Grace Ch.1

I just finished reading this book and now want to go over all the sections that I've hi-lighted (which is a good portion of the book...lol)...so that it will really sink in.

p4.

"How infinitely superior in value is grace to all the riches of this earth! And yet the least of these riches is often blindly preferred to grace. The most detestable created good induces us to cast away grace sacriligiously--in playful jest, as it were, There are always men who wantonly surrender to the enemy of their soul this plentitude of gifts, including God himself, for the mere indulgence of one sinful, unchaste look. More inconsiderate than Esau, they lose an inheritance greater than the world for the sake of a miserable momentary enjoyment!

"Be astonished, O ye heavens, at this, and ye gates thereof, be very desolate." (Jer. 2: 12)"

I've often been guilty of taking my relationship with the Lord for granted...knowing of His love and mercy and that He is willing to forgive over and over can lead me to the sin of presumption.

Psalm 19:13 says, "Keep back thy servant also from presumptuous sins; let them not have dominion over me: then shall I be innocent from the great transgression."
