I'm an Autumn...who knew? LOL.

"If your coloring is warm and muted and deep rich shades…you are an
autumn. Autumns have golden undertones and often are redheads or
brunettes with brown eyes with golden flecks (their eyes have more
contrast compared to the fairer springs)

Autumns best colors with yellow undertones that are rich, earthy
colors such as camel, most browns, golden yellow, moss green, olive,
mustard yellow, and terracotta."

These are the colors that I tend to wear the most (I especially LOVE brown) and didn't even know why. HA! For example right now I'm wearing brown shorts with a khaki green top.

  1. Hi Essy: I'm also an autumn. I had my 'colors' done years ago at a 'Color Me Beautiful' color analysis group. Maybe you guessed from my hair color?? I especially love burnt oranges, orangey reds, teal blues, olive green, chocolate browns.

I learned that people are most comfortable living with their 'colors'. So when my husband wanted to paint our house this summer, he let me choose paint samples leaning toward the rusts and orangey browns. We picked a color called 'fallen leaves'.

The dealer assured my husband that the orangey color in the can of paint would turn a dark rust brown, as it dried. Well, that was over a week ago. It's STILL pumpkin orange. I LOVE IT, but my husband (who's a 'winter and loves blue toned colors) just wants to get the house painted. LOL

  2. Yes you had mentioned having had your colors done before, but I really didn't know all the specifics of it. Pretty interesting. It's funny that you mentioned the teel blues and browns...that's the color I wanted to redo my bedroom in. I have sunny yellow on all my walls now...I like it..but I'm getting bored with it already...lol. My kitchen floor is terracota and I was thinking of keeping the yellow walls in there but just going with a more golden tone. It all makes sense now (except for the blue carpet all over the house...I guess I was on a blue and yellow kick at the time...lol)

  3. Were you quoting from a color analysis book there in your post? I have the original 'Color Me Beautiful' book. However I lost a later, more exacting color recommendation book to a friend (???) who suddenly disappeared and never called me to return my book. that book differentiates between soft, warm and deep autumn. I suspect I'm a 'deep autumn' but I also like warm autumn colors. That's the last time I loan a book to someone I don't know that well. SIGH I wonder what happened to her and my book.

  4. Actually, I am back with 'Flylady' and just got this e-mail. I just found a website that really goes into quite a bit of detail...I'll post that in a minute.
